Home Health

This is the major service PASCO provides to its consumers/clients.  While home health includes Skilled Nursing, Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy, the key service is Home Health Aide/CNA care.  PASCO specializes in serving adults and children with severe disabilities needing assistance with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, bowel/bladder care, etc).  To the maximum extent feasible, PASCO tries to promote choices in selecting/rejecting Aides and taking on more responsibilities in directing their personal care.

The majority of PASCO’s scheduled clients who have severe disabilities live alone and utilize PASCO services two, three and sometimes four times a day, 365 days of the year.

In-Home Support Services (IHSS)

IHSS is a fairly new Medicaid program and PASCO was one of the first  agencies in Colorado to provide this consumer friendly service.  IHSS enables consumers to have real choices in selecting, managing, and, if necessary, firing their attendants while still having the protection of an agency, that can provide on-call, back-up services.  The service is geared to individuals with severe disabilities who are receiving Medicaid and who need assistance with various activities of daily living, including: transferring, bathing, bowel/bladder
and skin care, feeding, etc.  Attendants providing this necessary service do not have to be CNA’s.

IHSS is a cross between the Medicaid Home Health program and the Consumer Directed Attendant Services (CDAS) program. Through an arrangement with the How To Place, PASCO will assist consumers requesting: Peer Counseling, I & R, Advocacy and Independent Living Skills Training.

Home and Community Based Services (HCBS)

PASCO provides Personal Care, Relative  Personal  Care and  Homemaker  Services to persons with disabilities on the Medicaid HCBS program.

On-Call, Back-Up Services

PASCO provides On- Call, Back-Up services to clients who receive Home Health Aide and IHSS services when there be a disruption in care.     For persons with severe disabilities living alone and physically dependent upon an Aide or Attendant to provide services to them, two, three or four times a day, 365 days of the year, problems occur.  When they do, PASCO has an extensive system backing up such individuals, day and night.

When asked on our annual evaluation, “was the PASCO on-call system helpful in resolving your need for calling” – one anonymous client stated:  “The on-call service is beyond good; I have not seen anyone in the 20 yrs of being disabled and seven different agencies beyond this competent. This is a hallmark of a wonderful agency.” “They were absolutely amazing in the snowstorm; They rented 4 wheel drives so that the Aides could do their visits. They go above and beyond.”
