Last night I had a major pity party about being a single mother of a disabled child. I called my cousin who lives in Texas and told her it’s so unfair that there are not more resources for us.
My cousin agreed and told me about a friend that she has, that only lives off her sons SSI because it is too hard for her to work outside the home. I began to think “wow” that’s not a lot. I started to think about PASCO and how I am truly blessed to be a parent CNA and get wages to care for my child. I get health benefits and my kids get to go to cool events like the Christmas party and the picnic. My daughter has a wonderfully caring nurse, and CNA, which helps prevent her from going to the hospital. Even though it’s been rough, I am glad I have PASCO as my resource, and advocate, to help me get back on track. Thanks.
